Assam: Minors Babita Nath, Ranju Devi of Sootea Area Meet Watery Grave
JAMUGURIHAT: In two separate incidents on Wednesday morning, two children from the Sootea area lost their lives.
Babita Nath, the only daughter of Bhogeshwar Nath and Ranju Devi, resident of Khatowal Gaon, on the eastern part of Sootea died by drowning on Wednesday morning. She was just 3 years old. According to available information, Babita slipped into the waters of a nearby pond while playing in the morning. When the family members searched her after some time, her body was found floating in the pond.
On the other hand, Rahul Karmakar, son of Kamal Karmakar of Bahbari, Bejorhola under Sootea police station also died by drowning. He was 4 years old. According to information received from the family, Rahul went to collect ripe fruits after school along with his classmates. All of his friends managed to cross the Diplonga Jaan, but he drowned in the water. Later on, his friends informed the family members about the incident. When the family members along with the villagers reached the accident site, they found the body floating in the water.
