Tehsildar took action on 12 highways, stir among sand thieves

Durg. Due to the failure of the Mineral Department, illegal sand mining is taking place on a large scale in the district. To curb this, the team of Revenue Department of the District Administration has geared up. Durg Tehsildar along with his team has taken the biggest action ever on illegal sand mining late last night. They have seized 12 highways including two Chain Mountain.

According to information, Tehsildar Khyati Netam of Durg district had received information that illegal sand mining was going on in Jewra Sirsa Chowki area on a large scale. She immediately reached Jewra Sirsa area with her team. During this, Naib Tehsildar Satyendra Shukla and Durg police team were also present with him. Tehsildar reached the spot with the police force and directly closed two chain mountains which were excavating sand. Seeing the action being taken, a number of Beedi drivers and car drivers fled from there. When the sand mafia could not run away with the vehicle, they left the vehicles and fled from the spot. In this action which lasted for about 4 hours late night, 12 Iowa vehicles including 2 Chain Mountain have been seized. The team of police and district administration is now trying to find out to whom the seized vehicles belong.
