50 encroachers arrested, forest department took major action

Dhamtari. The forest department has arrested 50 people who encroached upon trees in the forest of Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve in the district. This action has created a stir among the encroachment workers. It is being told that 468 trees have been cut in room number 322, 353 of Nagbel Beat in Ghotbeda Ghuravad forest of Sitanadi Udanti Sanctuary.

After which about 100 acres of forest land was encroached upon by the villagers. And a few days back, the Forest Department fired a bulldozer on the illegal encroachment. After which the team of Dhamtari Forest Department has arrested 36 male and 14 female encroachers and produced them in the court.
