Bilaspur: Gauthan is becoming the basis of prosperity and happiness

Bilaspur. Chhattisgarh government’s ambitious Godhan Nyaya Yojana is such a decision taken in the interest of cattle rearers, due to which they are getting financial help as well as employment and they are becoming financially strong. Gothans have shown the way for rural women to achieve economic strength by doing more than one work at the same time through the group. The dream of village self-reliance is coming true from the Gothans.

The farmers and animal herders of the district are now moving forward in the path of prosperity. Gothan is becoming the basis of prosperity and happiness under Suraji Gram Yojana. So far, about 8 thousand cattle herders have earned more than Rs 6.39 crore by selling cow dung. Under the ambitious Suraji Gram Yojana of the government, 336 Gothans have been constructed in the rural areas of district Bilaspur. In which drinking water, fodder, shade etc. have been arranged for basic facilities. In which the work of treatment and vaccination of sick animals is done from time to time by the veterinary department. Out of these 336 Gothans, Godhan Nyay Yojana is being operated in 319 Gothans, in which cow dung is being purchased regularly by the registered cattle rearers at the rate fixed by the government at the rate of two rupees per kg. Since the inception of the scheme, 3 lakh 21 thousand 516 quintal cow dung has been purchased and against the purchase of cow dung, Rs 6 crore 39 lakh 76 thousand has been paid to about 8 thousand cattle herders. So far 76 thousand 530 quintal vermi compost, 16 thousand 503 quintal super compost, 393.40 quintal super compost plus have been produced from the purchased cow dung, out of which 58 thousand 413 quintal vermi compost, 15 thousand 698 quintal super compost, 46.30 This has been sold to Quintal Super Compost Plus. Village Gothan committees have earned Rs 3 crore 50 lakh 19 and self-help groups have earned Rs 2 crore 20 lakh 46 from the sale of the said manure.
