The in-form Harry Tector has surpassed Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock in the recently announced ICC ODI batsmen rankings. In the recent rankings announced by the ICC, he became the Ireland batsman with the highest rating points with 722 points in batting. The 23-year-old Tektor, who improved by 72 rating points and rose 9 places to the 7th position, surpassed the best international players Steve Smith and Jos Buttler. Paul Stirling is the highest rated batsman for Ireland so far. He scored 697 rating points in 2021.
He recently scored 140 runs in the second ODI of the ODI series against Bangladesh. Moreover, he scored 206 runs in all three innings in that series. Tektor is likely to further improve his rank in the context of Ireland playing the ICC ODI World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe next June/July.
