Tamil Nadu spurious liquor case: Palaniswami will meet the families of the deceased

Chennai (IANS) | AIADMK general secretary K. Palaniswami will meet the families of those who died after consuming spurious liquor in Tamil Nadu. The spurious liquor has so far claimed 18 lives in Villupuram and Chengalpattu districts of the state. Palaniswami has already targeted the state government for this. They have also demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Stalin for the tragedy.

Against the ruling DMK over the spurious liquor deaths, the former chief minister, who is also the leader of the opposition in Tamil Nadu, is seeking political mileage.

He also said that there has been a failure of law and order in Tamil Nadu since the DMK government came to power.

Palaniswami further said that the state government has failed to stop the sale of spurious liquor across Tamil Nadu.

As per preliminary investigation, it was found that the tragedy occurred at Marakkanam in Villupuram when some people consumed local liquor.
