In Mumbai, a speeding car hit a couple on a motorcycle; the wife suffered a fractured wrist.

Mumbai. A couple was injured after being struck by a speeding vehicle in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. On Friday morning, near Bahar Junction on the Western Express Highway (WEH) in Andheri East, a speeding black car rear-ended a motorcycle. The victims, 29-year-old Sarvesh Prabhu and his 31-year-old wife, Aditi Prabhu—both of whom work as bankers in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC)—sustained injuries in the incident. The driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the collision. Sarvesh suffered injuries to the palms of both his hands and his right knee, while his wife, Aditi, sustained a fracture to her right wrist. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and transported the injured couple to a hospital.

According to reports, the accident occurred around 8:00 AM on Friday in the Andheri East area. Sarvesh Prabhu was traveling on a motorcycle with his wife, Aditi. The couple had left their home in Kandivali at approximately 7:45 AM and were involved in the accident about 15 minutes later, when a speeding car, approaching from behind, struck their motorcycle near Bahar Junction.

In his complaint to the police, Sarvesh Prabhu stated that he and his wife were riding a motorcycle when a black car, traveling at high speed, approached from behind and collided with their bike. The impact was so sudden that both were thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle itself was also damaged in the accident.

As a result of the collision, Sarvesh Prabhu sustained injuries to the palms of both his hands and his right knee, while his wife, Aditi Prabhu, suffered a fracture to her right wrist. Both required medical attention and were taken to a hospital. Following the incident, the Andheri police promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured couple to the Trauma Care Hospital located in Jogeshwari East. According to the Andheri police, the accident occurred at 8:00 AM. The couple had left their home in Kandivali about 15 minutes earlier. Both are employed in the banking sector in the Bandra-Kurla Complex. However, it is not clear from the available information whether they were heading to their office or traveling for some other purpose at the time of the incident.

The most concerning aspect of the accident is that the car driver did not stop after hitting the motorcycle. According to the complaint, the driver fled the scene with the vehicle. The couple could only identify the color of the car; they were unable to note the registration number or identify the person behind the wheel.

In his complaint, Sarvesh Prabhu stated that the car was black and traveling at a high speed. He reported that the car struck their motorcycle from behind, causing both him and his wife to fall onto the road. The motorcycle also sustained damage.

Following the incident, prompt action by the police ensured that the injured couple was taken to a hospital. According to the Andheri police, officers arrived at the scene immediately upon receiving the information and transported the injured pair to the Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari East. Further details regarding the specific treatment for their injuries are not currently available.

This road accident has once again highlighted concerns regarding high-speed driving and “hit-and-run” incidents. The Western Express Highway is one of Mumbai’s major arterial roads; on such a busy route, rear-end collisions pose a serious threat to motorcyclists.

Two-wheeler riders are particularly vulnerable to direct injury in road accidents. A collision between a car and a motorcycle can easily cause a rider to lose balance and fall. In this instance, the rear-end impact caused Sarvesh and Aditi to fall from their motorcycle, resulting in injuries to both.

The fact that Aditi sustained a fracture to her right wrist underscores the severity of the incident. Meanwhile, Sarvesh sustained injuries to both his palms and his right knee. Both individuals were provided with medical assistance following the accident. However, it remains unclear whether they have been discharged after receiving hospital treatment or if they are still under medical observation.

Identifying the driver of the car, who fled the scene, is a crucial aspect of this case. In their complaint, the couple stated that they were only able to note the color of the car. Consequently, further evidence may be required to identify the vehicle. It is not yet confirmed whether the police have begun reviewing CCTV footage.

The fact that the driver fled the scene after the accident is a serious matter. Individuals injured in such incidents often require immediate medical attention; a driver leaving the scene without stopping can create additional hardships for the victims. In this instance, the couple was transported to a hospital after the police arrived at the scene.

Sarvesh Prabhu and his wife, Aditi, both work in the banking sector. The accident occurred shortly after they left home on Friday morning. About 15 minutes after departing from Kandivali, their motorcycle was struck by a car near Bahar Junction in Andheri East.

According to the complainant, Sarvesh Prabhu, the car was traveling at a high speed and approached from behind. The sudden impact left them no time to react. Both fell onto the road, and their motorcycle was damaged. As the driver fled immediately after the collision, the couple was unable to gather any further details about the vehicle.
