Jharkhand: A big industrial gift is going to be given to Belgarhia area of Dhanbad district. Preparations for setting up a pant-shirt manufacturing (garment) factory here have been completed. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be signed on July 22 to formalize the project. This initiative will not only boost industrial activities in the area but also assures permanent employment to the land or project affected families.
Local people believe that the industrial investment which was awaited for a long time is now visible on the ground. If the project is completed on time, employment, business and infrastructure development in Belgarhia and surrounding areas can get a new impetus.
MOU will be signed on 22nd July, project will get official approval
The MOU is to be signed between the administration and the concerned company on July 22. After this agreement the formal process of the project will start.
Under the MOU, various points like land use, investment, employment, training, construction work and participation of local people will be finalized. The administration says that after the agreement, the process of factory construction will be taken forward as per the fixed deadline.
Why was this project selected in Belgarhia?
Belgarhia area has long been considered an area with industrial potential. Given the facilities like availability of roads and transport, availability of labor and access to big markets, it has been considered suitable for the garment industry.
Experts believe that the readymade garment industry has the potential to generate more employment in a relatively short period of time. That is why this project is expected to create new opportunities for the local youth.
