Gorakhpur: Construction of Gorakhpur’s first six-lane flyover and the adjacent Deoria Bypass four-lane flyover, bringing a major change to the city’s traffic system, has been completed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate both projects on July 22nd. The nine-kilometer-long Deoria Bypass four-lane road will also be inaugurated. Residents of Transport Nagar, Mahewa, Rustampur, Canal Road, and the Deoria Bypass area, who have long been facing traffic jams, are now expected to experience significant relief.
Preparations for the inauguration ceremony have been intensified. On Thursday, District Magistrate Deepak Meena, along with officials from the Bridge Corporation, inspected the flyover and the venue. Considering the rainy season, it has been decided to hold the event at a marriage lawn located before the GDA office on the Deoria Bypass four-lane road.
Meanwhile, the executing agency, the Bridge Corporation, has completed the construction of the flyover and has also completed preparations to ensure smooth traffic flow beneath it. Shuttering and construction material beneath the four-lane flyover have been removed, allowing uninterrupted traffic movement under the Deoria bypass four-lane and six-lane flyovers.
You will now be able to exit the city at a fast pace.
This project, initiated on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to provide permanent relief from traffic jams on the city’s busiest routes. Until now, the journey from Padleganj to Nausadh often took one to one and a half hours due to traffic jams. With the flyover open, this journey will be significantly reduced.
This will not only ease traffic within the city but also provide uninterrupted access for vehicles traveling to Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Deoria. The four-lane flyover, built for vehicles coming from the Deoria bypass, is a key component of this project.
This will divide the traffic flow from different directions and significantly reduce congestion at intersections. Heavy vehicles and long-distance buses will also benefit directly.
LED lights enhance beauty, heritage reflected in paintings
This flyover is not limited to providing transportation convenience, but also appears to be creating a new identity for the city. Tricolor-themed LED lights installed on the streetlight poles of the six-lane flyover give the entire flyover an attractive look at night. The paintings on the flyover pillars reflect the spiritual, cultural, and historical heritage of Gorakhnath Nagari, attracting the attention of passersby.
