13 year old girl missing in Shahpur, accused of luring her with the intention of marriage

Muzaffarnagar: A case of a minor girl being lured and abducted with the intention of marriage has come to light in the Shahpur police station area of ​​the district. Based on the complaint filed by the girl’s father, the Shahpur police have registered a case against the accused youth under serious sections and initiated an investigation. Police have activated separate teams to safely recover the girl and arrest the accused.

According to the police, a resident of a village in the Shahpur police station area filed a complaint at the police station. The complainant stated that on July 13, 2026, Karim, son of Rehman Ilahi, a resident of Mohalla Kassawan, Shahpur town, allegedly lured his 13-year-old daughter with the intention of marrying her.

When the family learned of the girl’s disappearance, they searched extensively for her. They also sought information about her from relatives and acquaintances, but could not locate her. After numerous attempts to find no trace of the girl, the distraught family went to the Shahpur police station and informed the police of the entire incident, demanding action against the accused.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the Shahpur police have registered a case against the accused youth under relevant sections including kidnapping, luring a minor away, and the POCSO Act. Given the seriousness of the matter, the police have immediately launched an investigation.

Police officials say that this case involving a minor is being treated on a priority basis. Raids are being conducted at possible locations to search for the girl, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the accused.
