The condition of Delhi is miserable due to heat and humidity, the pace of monsoon is slow.

New Delhi. After the arrival of monsoon in Delhi-NCR, there has been a break in the rains. Due to lack of rain for the last few days, humidity and heat have increased in the capital and surrounding areas. People once again seem to be troubled by the sticky heat. According to weather experts, monsoon activity has suddenly reduced in many parts of North-West India. Due to this, the movement of clouds has reduced in Delhi-NCR and due to sunshine both temperature and humidity are increasing.
Situation created by change in monsoon trough
According to meteorologists, at this time the monsoon trough has shifted north from its normal position. Monsoon trough is a low pressure area that attracts moist clouds and creates favorable conditions for rain. When this trough changes its position, rainfall activities weaken in many areas. For this reason, the pace of monsoon has slowed down in some parts of North-West India including Delhi-NCR.
‘Break Monsoon’ situation
Experts have described this situation as break monsoon. This means that the monsoon does not end completely, but the rainfall activities reduce for some time. During this time, the sky becomes clear and as the temperature increases, humidity in the air becomes more humid. Similar weather is currently prevailing in Delhi-NCR.
Effect of El Nino is also visible
Meteorologists say that many weather conditions affect the movement of monsoon. These also include changes in ocean temperature and phenomena like El Nino. Sometimes normal monsoon activities can be affected due to El Nino. However, its impact is seen differently in every region.
Rain expected after July 19
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of return of rain in Delhi-NCR after July 19. After the change in the monsoon system, rain activities may increase again in the capital and surrounding areas. Meteorologists have advised people to take precautions to avoid heat and humidity during this period. Avoid staying in the sun for too long and keep drinking adequate amount of water.
People waiting for relief
Due to weakening of monsoon, people of Delhi-NCR have to wait for the rains once again. People got relief from the heat due to the rain a few days ago, but now the humidity has increased the problem.
However, the Meteorological Department estimates that the conditions may change in the coming days and people are expected to get relief from the heat after the rains return. At present, people in the capital are looking towards the sky with hopeful eyes.
