Political controversy over Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement, BJP strongly criticized

Tamil Nadu: A new controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu politics over a statement regarding Sanatana Dharma. Opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement in the Assembly prompted a sharp response from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The issue has sparked a political and social debate.

Speaking in the Assembly, Udhayanidhi Stalin stated that the caste system, which divides society, must be completely eradicated. His statement sparked a wave of reactions within political circles.

BJP National Organization General Secretary P.L. Santosh strongly objected to this statement. Posting on the social media platform ‘X’, he said that many rulers and empires in history—Alexander, the Whites, Ghazni, Khilji, the British, the French, and the Communists—could not eradicate the Sanatana tradition. He also said that a person who could not get his ideology accepted within his own family is now talking about eradicating Sanatana.

P.L. Santosh further stated in his post that India and the Sanatan tradition have remained steadfast and indestructible through time and generations. According to him, calling for the destruction of Sanatan is merely a political statement that doesn’t align with ground reality.

Following this statement, a heated debate erupted on social media between BJP and DMK supporters. Many supported Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement, saying his intention was to raise voice against caste discrimination and inequality prevalent in society.

On the other hand, BJP supporters criticized the statement, calling it hurtful to religious sentiments. Reactions from both sides have been pouring in on social media platforms, further fueling the issue.

Political analysts believe that this controversy will not be limited to just one statement, but could become a major issue in Tamil Nadu politics in the future, especially since issues such as social justice, the caste system, and religious identity are already sensitive issues in the state.

This entire matter has once again demonstrated the profound influence that issues like Sanatan Dharma, the caste system, and social reform hold on Indian politics. While calls for reform and equality are being made, the argument for protecting tradition and faith is also being raised.

This controversy is currently transcending political rhetoric and influencing public opinion, and further reactions are likely to emerge in the coming days.
