KKR vs SRH: Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad look for a win, betting on spinners

Sports: Kolkata Knight Riders will be hoping for a revival from their spinners in their IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad here on Thursday. The match also marks the start of a crucial home series for the three-time champions, who will play three matches in seven days and another on April 19th, before the Kolkata leg is halted for almost a month due to the upcoming assembly elections.
With four away matches following this, and their next home match only on May 16th, KKR knows it’s crucial to build momentum during this period. Eden Gardens has been a stronghold for KKR, having won 54 of their 95 matches since 2008.

Sunrisers find themselves in a similar situation after starting their campaign with a defeat to defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore.

SRH boasts a top order with star players like Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Travis Head. But their bowling has looked weak — especially in the absence of Pat Cummins, who is yet to fully return to match fitness — as they were unable to defend a total of 201 against RCB.

The Australian captain has resumed bowling in the nets and is targeting a return mid-tournament, but for now, SRH will have to make do without their leader.
