Seat sharing: DMK-Marxist Communist Party holds second round of talks

Tamil Nadu: The second round of seat-sharing talks with the DMK alliance member, the Communist Party of India-Marxist, took place on Tuesday.
With assembly election dates expected to be announced any time, the DMK is actively working to finalize seat-sharing arrangements with its allies. So far, the alliance has allocated 28 seats to the Congress Party, and two each to the Indian Union Muslim League and the Human People’s Party.
As a result, a team led by Communist Party of India-Marxist State Secretary P. Shanmugam visited Anna Arivalayam on Tuesday and held a second round of talks.
In the last assembly elections, the Marxist Party contested six seats in the DMK alliance and won two. The party is currently seeking to win more seats. DMK sources have stated that the seats will be finalized soon.
