Jalandhar: Illegal arms smuggler arrested, 7.65 mm pistol recovered.

Jalandhar: Kapurthala police have arrested an accused under the Arms Act and recovered an illegal weapon during a targeted operation near Kapurthala. Senior Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Toora, said that a case has been registered under Section 25 of the Arms Act. According to information, the accused, Ajay Kumar, a resident of Mehrajpur village under Lohian police station, was allegedly involved in selling illegal weapons. An informant further revealed that the accused had procured the illegal weapon from Madhya Pradesh and was waiting for customers on the link road from Talwandi Mihma to Sheikhupur to sell the weapon.
A raid was conducted, and Ajay Kumar was arrested, and a 7.65 mm pistol was recovered from his possession. The accused was taken into custody, and the weapon was seized as evidence. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the illegal weapon and identify other individuals involved in the arms supply network. The police reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against the trafficking of illegal weapons to maintain law and order in the district.
