Staffer of Dahunda Service Co-Operative Society arrested for embezzlement of govt funds

Balasore: Subal Kumar Sahu, the ex-secretary (dismissed from service) of Dahunda Service Co-operative Society under Bhogarai Block in Balasore district has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance.

The Vigilance sleuths arrested Sahu on charges of misappropriation of Government Funds of Rs 19,80,255 for extending benefit to ineligible members of the said Society under Crop Insurance Scheme during financial year 2014-15 by manipulating official records and is being forwarded to the court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.

In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 03/2026, U/s 13(2)r/w13(1)(a)PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation into the case continues.
