Meghalaya: Two people arrested in connection with the Dhar Construction campus explosion case.

SHILLONG: A major breakthrough has been achieved in the investigation into the explosion that occurred on December 15, 2025, at the Dhar Construction Company campus near Shimplong village in East Jaintia Hills district. Police have arrested two suspects following a coordinated overnight operation.

Based on new information, the East Jaintia Hills Police, in collaboration with the West Jaintia Hills Police, conducted a joint operation during the night, leading to the arrest of the main suspects involved in the incident.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Issei Sungoh alias Sei alias Bah (29), son of Mrs. Ifaida Sungoh, a resident of Minso B under Jowai Police Station in West Jaintia Hills district, and Embha Ladong (25), son of Esellian Ladong, a resident of Shimplong under Lumshnong Police Station in East Jaintia Hills district. Both accused were produced before the court, which granted six days of police custody for further interrogation and investigation.

Development Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to identify the entire network behind this illegal act.

Appealing for public cooperation, the police urged anyone with information about other culprits involved in the incident to immediately contact the nearest police station.

Assuring confidentiality, the SP stated that the authorities will keep the identity of informants secret and will provide a suitable reward for credible information.
