Kaanum Pongal: Medical facilities at specific places

Tamil Nadu: Public Health Department officials have stated that medical preparations have been made in places where large numbers of people gather for the upcoming Pongal festival.

They stated that 108 ambulances have been parked near tourist destinations, beaches, and parks.

Special arrangements have been made in several locations across Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Pongal festival. In Chennai, the district administration has made preparations at beaches, zoos, Mamallapuram, and amusement parks. The police department is taking security measures, while the government has also arranged for emergency medical assistance. Medical camps will be set up in collaboration with local bodies in areas where thousands of people will visit. Sugar levels and blood pressure will be checked there.

Medicines for fever, colds, diarrhea, and salt-sugar solution are available at these medical camps.

Public Health Department officials stated:

EMRI Green Health Services operates over 1,000 108 ambulances in Tamil Nadu. More than 200 vehicles are being deployed in Chennai and Tiruvallur districts. 108 ambulances are on standby at key locations where people gather on Kaanum Pongal.

The Emergency Control Center has also been put on standby. Special arrangements have been made at various locations to ensure uninterrupted medical assistance. He urged people to celebrate the festival safely and cautiously.
