Digvijay Singh: Digvijay Singh’s important decision regarding Rajya Sabha seat

Madhya Pradesh: Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh, has made an important decision. He has decided not to contest the Rajya Sabha seat for a third time. Speaking about this, he stated that he is not contesting the Rajya Sabha elections for a third time. Digvijay stated that it is not in his control to resign, but he is resigning. His term will end in April this year.

However, it is reported that Digvijay Singh will resign following a request from Pradeep Ahirwar, President of the SC unit of the Congress Party from Madhya Pradesh. Pradeep Ahirwar wrote a letter to party leaders on January 13, requesting that a leader from the Scheduled Castes be sent to the Upper House.

In his letter, he requested that a Dalit from the party be given a chance in the Rajya Sabha for social justice. Ahirwar stated that the SC population in Madhya Pradesh is 17%.

Digvijay Singh has been a Rajya Sabha member since 2014. He served as Chief Minister from 1993 to 2003.
