Himachal: Minister advocates balanced development

Himachal Pradesh: Expressing concern over recent incidents in the state related to the construction of four-lane highways, Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh stated that four-lane projects are impacting Himachal Pradesh’s environment. He stated that the government, in collaboration with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), is working to ensure that four-lane construction is limited to the prescribed limits. He made this statement while addressing the people after inaugurating a Panchayat Ghar, a community hall, and two roads in the Anandpur Gram Panchayat in Shimla district. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that ensuring all-round development in the area is his priority. He emphasized that there should be no polarization or division in society. He said, “It is the duty of public representatives to continuously strive to accomplish projects for the welfare of the people, as balanced development is the key to a better future.”
He stated that the construction of new Panchayat Ghar will greatly benefit the local people and provide better facilities to the representatives, from where development work will be carried out. He also assured the people that the development projects for which the foundation stone has been laid will be completed on time. He further stated that Shoghi is considered the gateway to the state capital, and therefore, a concerted effort should be made to provide all basic amenities. He said, “Administrative approval of ₹13 crore has already been received to address the budgetary shortfall for the construction of a Community Health Center (CHC), and once the budget is received, the work will be completed in the coming financial year.” He further announced that the government senior secondary schools in Sunni Ghanahatti and Shoghi would be upgraded to CBSE board. Later, the minister listened to the people’s complaints and assured them that their problems would be addressed on priority.
