Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Bhoramdev Corridor was held at a cost of ₹146 crore. Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, a well-organized and comprehensive tourism corridor will be developed from the Bhoramdev Temple complex to Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal, Ramchua, and Saroda Reservoir. The construction of this corridor will prove to be a milestone in establishing Bhoramdev’s unique identity not only on the national but also on the international tourism scene, linking the district’s major religious and archaeological sites into a robust tourism network. The Bhoramdev Corridor will be developed along the lines of Ujjain and Varanasi.
Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, addressing the gathering yesterday after the groundbreaking ceremony for the corridor at the Bhoramdev Festival site, declared that today is a historic day for Kabirdham district and the entire state. Extending New Year greetings, he said that over the past two years, the Chhattisgarh government has implemented Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledges and realized the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh. He stated that Naxalism was the biggest obstacle to the state’s development, and the state government has taken the initiative to eliminate it, and today the state is moving decisively towards eliminating Naxalism. He said that this has strengthened the confidence of citizens not only in Chhattisgarh but across the country that no force or conspiracy that seeks to weaken India will be tolerated. The tough decisions taken against terrorism under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership have given new strength to the country’s security policy.
Union Minister Shekhawat said that India is rapidly progressing towards becoming a developed nation. Along with the construction of roads, bridges, and other infrastructure, services like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, drinking water, electricity, financial transfers through DBT, and employment are reaching every household of the poor. He stated that positive changes have been made to the National Employment Guarantee Scheme, which now provides 125 days of employment instead of 100. A compensation guarantee has also been included in the scheme in case of non-availability of employment. He described this as “Modi’s Guarantee,” expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Union Tourism Minister stated that the Bhoramdev Temple is a nearly 1,000-year-old historical heritage, and the construction of this corridor is ensuring its preservation for thousands of years to come. He urged construction agencies and officials to ensure that quality is not compromised in this ₹146 crore project, as it is linked to religious beliefs and cultural heritage.
