Bhopal: MP Police on high alert for New Year

Madhya Pradesh: In light of the Pahalgam incident and Operation Sindoor, and the expected large crowds at malls, markets, hotels, resorts, temples, and picnic spots (rivers, dams, lakes) on New Year’s Day,
Director General of Police Kailash Makwana has issued special instructions to all district Superintendents of Police to deploy additional security forces here starting Sunday.
All SPs have been instructed to take special precautionary measures to maintain law and order and communal harmony in the state during the New Year’s celebrations.
The DGP has directed that strict checking and patrolling be ensured throughout the state from the evening of December 28th to the night of January 1st.
Last year, antisocial and disruptive elements were significantly controlled due to the proactive efforts of the police.
Continuing this approach, the police will remain fully vigilant this year to maintain law and order, ensure the safety of the general public, and maintain communal harmony in the state.
Makwana directed that field officers of all ranks will personally lead security arrangements on the roads. Police presence will be increased at major intersections and sensitive areas. The police will adopt a zero-tolerance policy to prevent drunk driving, speeding, harassment, and misbehavior with women.
The DGP also directed that security be maintained with utmost vigilance on all fronts, including VVIP/VIP security.
