127 NCC cadets from Odisha to participate in Republic Day camp

Odisha: 127 NCC cadets have been selected to participate in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) to be held in New Delhi from December 27, 2025, to January 29, 2026. These cadets will also represent the state in the Republic Day Parade and the NCC Prime Minister’s Rally in the National Capital.

This contingent has been selected from approximately 64,000 NCC cadets in Odisha. Of the 127 selected cadets, 80 are boys and 47 are girls. Of these, 112 are from the College NCC Wing (71 boys and 41 girls), while 15 are from the School NCC Wing (9 boys and 6 girls).

The 127 cadets, along with 10 supporting staff, departed for New Delhi today.

Before departing, the cadets underwent a month-long intensive training in Nabarangpur to prepare for this prestigious national event.

Before departing for New Delhi, the cadets spoke with Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, who encouraged them and wished them success.

Addressing the cadets, the Minister said that the discipline, dedication, and commitment of NCC cadets to national unity and integrity are a source of inspiration for all. He expressed hope that participating in the Republic Day Camp would be a memorable and rewarding experience for all cadets and said that it is a matter of pride for Odisha that its cadets will represent the state on such a national platform.

The Minister further stated that the Higher Education Department is striving to increase the number of NCC cadets in Odisha, increase women’s participation in the NCC, and establish an NCC battalion exclusively for women in the state.

On this occasion, Commodore Vikram Singh, Deputy Director General of the Odisha NCC Directorate, gave a detailed overview of NCC activities in the state and thanked the Higher Education Minister for the steps taken to strengthen the NCC and motivate the cadets.

Present at today’s event were Kali Prasanna Mahapatra, Director of the Higher Education Department; Professor Yajneswar Dandapat, Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University and Group Captain Debashish Mangaraj.
