Odisha: Tehsildar arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.

Odisha: Vigilance officials today arrested a Tehsildar in Odisha’s Jajpur district for accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a landowner.
Pradeep Kumar Sethi, the Tehsildar in charge of Binjharpur in Jajpur, had allegedly demanded Rs 30,000 from the landowner for the proper demarcation of his land.
The landowner filed a complaint with the Odisha Vigilance Department. Following this, a trap was laid, and Sethi was caught red-handed accepting the bribe.
The Vigilance Department stated that the entire bribe amount was recovered and seized from Sethi.
A case has been registered against the accused Tehsildar at the Vigilance Police Station in Cuttack under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
