Vijay’s campaign in Perundurai tomorrow: Police have imposed strict restrictions.

Tamil Nadu: Following the Karur incident, Vijay is scheduled to campaign in an open ground in Perundurai on Thursday (December 18), but the police have imposed strict restrictions.
Prior to the assembly elections, Thavaka leader Vijay had conducted district-wise campaigns. In Karur, a stampede at a Thavaka meeting on September 27 resulted in the deaths of 41 people. Following this, Thavaka and Vijay’s activities came to a standstill.
Later, last December, Thavaka leader Vijay participated in and campaigned at a public meeting in Puducherry on the 9th.
In this situation, Vijay will address a campaign meeting called ‘Makkal Kanjuni’ near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza in Perundurai taluk of Erode district on Thursday (December 18).
Vijay will deliver his speech from a campaign vehicle between 11 AM and 1 PM on Thursday. The police department has imposed a total of 84 conditions for this event. The main condition is that a map clearly showing the campaign vehicle, VIP box, women’s box, other boxes, and entry and exit routes must be submitted to the police department.
It has been stipulated that only 80 percent of the capacity should be allowed in each compartment during the event, and drinking water facilities should be provided in all compartments. The police department has also instructed that the number of Thavaka party volunteers and attendees should not exceed the limit mentioned in the application.
It has also been stated that a separate passage should be created to allow fire engines and ambulances easy access through the crowd in case of an emergency. Another condition is that a sufficient number of CCTV cameras should be installed, the entire event should be video recorded, and the footage handed over to the police department.
People have also been requested to avoid unnecessary crowding beforehand and to arrive at the event only at the scheduled time. Climbing on electric poles, trees, buildings, and advertising banners is strictly prohibited. A mandatory roof condition has also been imposed. Furthermore, the police department has stated that details such as Vijay’s arrival and departure times, the routes he will take, and the registration numbers of the 10 vehicles following his car must be provided in advance. It has been made clear that no roadblocks, receptions, or processions will be permitted along Vijay’s route.
The police department said that an affidavit was submitted on Tuesday, fulfilling all the conditions. It stated that they would strictly adhere to all the conditions imposed by the police department.
This meeting has generated considerable controversy as it is a campaign meeting held after the Karur incident.
