The water level at Mettur Dam has dropped to 114.15 feet.

Tamil Nadu: The water level in the Mettur Dam is decreasing by 0.50 feet every day.

This morning (December 16), the inflow into the Mettur Dam decreased slightly from 2672 cubic feet per second to 1824 cubic feet per second.

9,500 cubic feet of water per second is being released from the dam through the hydroelectric power stations for irrigation in the Cauvery Delta, and 400 cubic feet per second is being released through the upper sluice gates for irrigation in the East-West Canal.

Due to the amount of water released for irrigation exceeding the inflow into the dam, the water level in the Mettur Dam has fallen from 114.63 feet to 114.15 feet.

The current water storage in the Mettur Dam is 84.46 TMC.

As the inflow into the Mettur Dam has decreased to 1824 cubic feet per second, and 9,500 cubic feet per second is being released for irrigation, the water level in the dam is falling by approximately 0.50 feet per day.
