No one will be ignored in the case of sexual assault on a student in the university: Home Minister

Tirupati: AP Home Minister Anitha Vangalapudi has responded to the sexual assault on a student at Tirupati Sanskrit University. She made it clear that justice will be done to the victim student and that no one will be ignored in the case. She stated that the protection of women is her first goal.

He revealed that he had inquired about the details of the case from the Tirupati SP and senior police officers, and that the police had immediately taken a complaint from the victim. He explained that the Tirupati SP was personally monitoring the case. He said that a police team had gone to Odisha for a full-scale investigation.

A young woman from Odisha is studying in her first year of B.Ed at Tirupati National Sanskrit University. Assistant Professor Laxman Kumar sexually harassed the young woman, had physical intercourse with her and made her pregnant. Laxman Kumar sexually assaulted her and another assistant professor, Shekhar Reddy, filmed the incident on his mobile phone.

After that, both of them blackmailed the student.. The incident came to light when the victim student, unable to bear the harassment, complained to the university’s Vice Chancellor Krishnamurthy. When the VC complained to the police, they registered an FIR and took up an investigation and seized the cell phones of the two assistant professors. After this incident, the victim went to Odisha and the government removed the assistant professor Laxman Kumar from his duties.
