The joint team seized 1055 quintals of illegal paddy worth 24 lakhs from the middleman.

Balodabazar. Following instructions from Collector Deepak Soni, a joint team from the Revenue Department, Food Department, and Mandi (market) is maintaining strict vigilance against illegal traders and middlemen. On Saturday, 1055 quintals of illegally procured paddy, worth Rs. 24.99 lakh, were seized from middlemen in the Bhatapara and Palari revenue subdivisions.

According to the information received, in the Bhatapara subdivision, a joint team of Revenue, Food, and Mandi officials, led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shyama Patel, seized 28 quintals of illegally procured paddy worth Rs. 66,332 from Bhavya Traders in Surajpura. They also seized 16.40 quintals of illegally procured paddy worth Rs. 38,851 from Makhan Giri Goswami in Khaira and 1000 quintals of illegally procured paddy worth Rs. 23,74,183 from Riddhi Siddhi Agro Industries, whose warehouse was subsequently sealed. In the Palari subdivision, 11.2 quintals of illegally procured paddy worth Rs. 25,760 were seized from Jaleshwar Sahu’s shop in Jarve village and handed over to Balakdas of Jarve.
