Navsakani MP takes over as Waqf Board Chairman

Tamil Nadu: Lok Sabha member Navasakani assumed charge as the chairman of the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board on Tuesday.

He assumed charge at a function held at the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board headquarters in Chennai on Tuesday in the presence of Minority Affairs and Overseas Tamil Welfare Minister S.M. Nasar. The board members who took charge included MLAs B. Abdul Samad, Ghulam Mohammed Mehdi Khan, A. Mehriba Parveen, A.S. Fatima Mujappa, M. Mohammed Basheer, and S.K. Nawaz.

The event was attended by E. Saravanvelraj, Secretary of the Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department, and Aftab Rasool, Chief Executive Officer of the board.

Notably, MP Navasakani, who was already the chairman of the Waqf Board, has been re-elected to the post.
