Heavy rain will continue in Chennai and its surrounding areas for the next 2 hours.

Tamil Nadu: The Chennai Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in four districts, including Chennai, over the next two hours.

Cyclone Titwa, which was threatening northern Tamil Nadu, has weakened and formed into a deep depression near Chennai.

Due to this, rain accompanied by strong winds began on Sunday night. After midnight, widespread light rain began throughout the city.

Heavy rain lashed Chennai city and its surrounding areas on Monday morning, flooding low-lying areas and roads.

Light to heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu districts over the next two hours (until 10 a.m.).

Furthermore, a report from the Chennai Meteorological Department states that light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in districts including Ranipet, Tirupattur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Puducherry.
