Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu meteorologist Pradeep John stated that the deep depression near Chennai will cross the coast near Kalpakkam, south of Chennai.
Pradeep John, known as the Tamil Nadu meteorologist, stated this in his X-site post:
Cyclone Titwa, which had been near the Chennai coast for the past 24 hours, has now intensified into a deep depression, causing heavy rainfall in parts of Chennai and Tiruvallur districts.
It is expected to remain near the Chennai coast for the next 18 hours. The system will weaken further from evening to night and cross the coast near the Kalpakkam area, south of Chennai.

This system will cross southern Tamil Nadu and reach the delta coast. It will reach Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, and the delta districts.
Rainfall may occur at one or two places in Puducherry, Cuddalore, and Villupuram. Once the low pressure area crosses the coast, rainfall will occur in Ranipet and Tiruvannamalai districts.
Heavy Rain:
Heavy rain is likely in Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram districts.
Very Heavy Rain:
The system will cross the coast again in the evening, south of Chennai, and rainfall will continue throughout the night. Very heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Chennai and Tiruvallur districts.
