Raipur: Son-in-law arrested for killing mother-in-law over domestic dispute
Raipur. Son-in-law Virendra Kurre, accused of murdering his mother-in-law over a domestic dispute, has been arrested. On 05.11.2025, the Mana police station received information that Rajbai Bandhe, wife of Uday Ram Bandhe, age 65, resident of village Baroda Foktpara Mana Camp, had died during treatment at DKS Hospital, Raipur. A case was registered at the Mana police station and investigation was initiated.
During the inquest, it was found from the deceased’s family that on 04.11.25, at around 05:30 pm, the deceased’s son-in-law, Virendra Kurre, was dragging his daughter by her hair, using obscene language over some issue and saying that someone’s dead body would be taken out of this house today. When the deceased, Raj Bai Bandhe, objected, the accused, with the intention of killing her, punched her three to four times on the face near her right eye, causing her to fall down. She was admitted to DKS Hospital for treatment and died during treatment. In this way, the accused Virendra Kurre killed his mother-in-law, Raj Bai Bandhe, by punching her with his hands, causing serious injuries. A case under Section 103 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused at Mana Police Station.
Under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Mana Police conducted continuous raids at all possible hideouts of the accused and apprehended Virendra Kurre. During interrogation, the accused confessed to murdering his mother-in-law over a domestic dispute.
