Chennai Marina curfew extended

Tamil Nadu: Due to strong winds and rain in Chennai, the ban on Marina Beach continues today.
The Meteorological Department has stated that Cyclone Titwa, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, has weakened into a depression. The storm will move northward along the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today and weaken further into a depression.
As a result, isolated light rain is expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on December 1st. Isolated heavy rain is also expected in Tiruvallur district. Light rain is expected in Chennai and surrounding areas on Monday (December 1st).
Consequently, Chennai and surrounding areas have been experiencing strong winds and rain since morning. Due to this, the ban on Marina Beach has been extended until Monday. Previously, Marina Beach was banned from visiting since yesterday morning due to Cyclone Titwa.
Police are erecting barricades to prevent people from accessing the beach. Meanwhile, rain is lashing many areas of Chennai, causing significant inconvenience to students heading to school in the morning.
