46 vehicles were seized for violating rules during Devar Guru Pooja and Marudhu Pandiyar Memorial Day.

Tamil Nadu: 96 people were arrested for violating rules while attending the Marudhu Pandiyar Memorial Day celebrations on October 27th and the Devar Guru Puja celebrations on October 30th in Sivaganga district. 46 vehicles were seized from them.

A press release issued by the District Superintendent of Police states: On the occasion of the Marudhu Pandiyar Memorial Day celebrations on October 27th and the Thevar Guru Puja celebrations in Pasumpon village on October 30th in Sivaganga district, 68 cases were registered against people violating rules, driving recklessly, and causing public nuisance within the jurisdiction of Kalaiyar Kovil, Sivaganga Manamadurai, Thiruppuvanam, Thiruppattur, Keezhachivalpatti, and Thirukoshtiyur police stations.

So far, 46 vehicles have been seized and 96 people have been arrested. They were later released on bail. The seized vehicles will be returned to the owners through the court.

It was also reported that the seized vehicles were displayed in a ‘Drive Safe’ format to raise awareness about the need for safe driving.
