Himachal: Governor appeals to trainee finance officers to maintain honesty and public interest

Himachal Pradesh: 30 trainee officers of the Himachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Service (HPFAS), currently undergoing training at the Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (MSHIPA), met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Congratulating the trainees, the Governor said their selection reflects their dedication, passion, and commitment to public service. He said they would soon assume the important responsibility of ensuring sound financial management in the state. He urged them to prioritize public interest and work with honesty, discipline, and a deep sense of duty. He said, “Himachal Pradesh, known as ‘Devbhoomi,’ is a place revered for its sanctity and unmatched natural beauty. Maintaining its clean and serene environment is everyone’s shared responsibility.” He urged officers to remain committed to the well-being of the state and remember that responsibilities should take precedence over rights when serving the public. During the conversation, Shukla emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in public administration. He urged the trainee officers to pursue their careers with professionalism, integrity, and a spirit of service, and to contribute significantly to the governance and development of the state. Course Director, Mr. Dinesh Sharma, briefed the Governor on the structure and objectives of the training program. MSHIPA Director, Rupali Thakur, informed him that after completing the course, candidates will have to pass a qualifying exam. CP Verma, Secretary to the Governor, was also present on the occasion.
