Humane Sagar’s death: Balangir Christian Youth Forum demands CBI probe, submit memorandum to SP

Balangir: Trouble has worsened for Dinesh Behera and Prashant Behera, managers of late playback singer Humen Sagar. The Balangir Christian Youth Forum today held them responsible for the singer’s untimely death and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter.
A group of Forum members reportedly submitted a memorandum to the Balangir Superintendent of Police (SP) demanding a CBI inquiry into Humen Sagar’s death, which has been mired in controversy.
Raju Bagh, advisor to the Balangir Christian Youth Forum, alleged, “From visuals circulating on various media platforms, we learned that Dinesh Behera and Prashant Behera repeatedly forced him (Humen Sagar) to sing in stage programs despite his health problems. He was suffering from liver cirrhosis, but instead of treating him, they forced him to perform on stage for hours on winter nights and they are solely responsible for his death.” He demanded, “An investigation should begin and Dinesh Behera and Prashanta Behera should be arrested soon. Humane Sagar’s income, Dinesh and Prashanta’s income, and the financial transactions between them should be made public.”
Meanwhile, Balangir Additional Superintendent of Police Amrit Kumar Panda said that the investigation will reveal the truth behind the death of the late Humane Sagar.
It is worth noting that Humane Sagar, one of the most popular singers in the Odia industry, died on November 17th while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, due to multi-organ dysfunction syndrome. His sudden death has left Odisha, the Odia music industry, and the film industry in deep shock.
Soon, controversy erupted over his death when his mother, Shefali Suna, alleged that despite his deteriorating health, his manager and event organizer forced him to sing on stage for hours at a stretch. She also alleged that a popular female singer was behind her son’s death.
