Six people drowned in separate incidents in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: Six people drowned in two separate incidents in northern Andhra Pradesh. In the first incident, three boys drowned in the Jhanjhavati Rubber Dam in Parvatipuram Manyam district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
The accident occurred while the boys were bathing in the dam, built across the Jhanjhavati River in Komarda Mandal. Sharath, Govind Naidu, and Pradeep, residents of Sivani village in the same district, had gone to the dam with their relatives.
According to eyewitnesses, one boy was drowning while bathing. Two others tried to save him, but all three were swept away.
Upon receiving information, police reached the dam and began a search with the help of expert swimmers. Meanwhile, in another incident, one person died and two others went missing after a boat capsized in the Rayawada Reservoir in Alluri Sitaramaraju district.
The incident occurred in the reservoir near Jinapadu in Anantagiri Mandal. Police recovered one body with the help of expert swimmers, while the search for the remaining two is ongoing. The deceased has been identified as Jeevan of Jinapadu. According to police, the accident occurred when the victims were returning to the dam in a country boat.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister K. Achchenaidu spoke with officials about the incident at the Jhanjavati Rubber Dam. Officials informed him that the boys who drowned in the dam were from Sivani village in Komarda mandal.

The minister directed officials to intensify the search operation. He also asked officials to install cautionary signs at the dam to prevent people from entering the water. Achchenaidu said this step was necessary to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

Last Sunday (November 16), five people drowned in three separate incidents in Andhra Pradesh. Two children, aged 8 and 9, drowned while playing in a tank in Pandhigunta, Srikakulam district. In another incident, a 16-year-old student drowned in a tank in Rushikudda in the same district.
In Tirupati, two people lost their lives while swimming in an irrigation project.
