Punjab: Three killed, four injured in road accident near Jaito

Punjab: Two women and a child were killed and four others, including an infant, were seriously injured this evening when a car collided with a roadside eucalyptus tree near Chandbhan village on Bathinda Road in the Jaito subdivision of Faridkot district. According to the Chardi Kalan Welfare Service Society, Jaito, which provides 24-hour ambulance and rescue services, the accident occurred when seven or eight members of a family were on their way to attend a wedding at the Brar Palace in Jaito. It is suspected that the driver lost control due to speeding, causing the vehicle to hit a tree.
Meet Singh Meeta, president of the organization, said that the team arrived at the scene after receiving an emergency call on their helpline. He added, “We found three women dead at the scene, while three others were seriously injured. All were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital, Jaito, but due to the absence of a doctor there, the injured were referred to the Civil Hospital, Kotkapura, for further treatment.” The deceased have been identified as Simranjit Kaur (60), Rajwinder Singh (11), residents of Chandbhan, and Angrez Kaur (75), a resident of Guru Ki Dhaba. The seriously injured have been identified as Sandeep Kaur (16), Jaspreet Kaur (21), Gurpreet Singh (22), and an infant, whose condition is reported to be critical. Local police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
