Guruparva: A feeling of devotion, a symbol of unity, Nagar Kirtan, Prabhat Ferry

Punjab: Thousands of devotees participated in Nagar Kirtans and Prabhat Pheris organized by Sikh religious organizations across the region on Monday. These events were organized under the aegis of the Gurdwara Singh Sabha Managing Committees, the Banda Singh Bahadur Welfare Society, and the Kalgidhar Federation ahead of Guru Nanak Dev’s birth anniversary. Strengthening the spirit of communal harmony, officials and workers from various Hindu and Muslim organizations welcomed the devotees and organized langar and chabeels for them. Some organizers added a touch of nationalism and patriotism to the celebrations by incorporating the national flag and symbols of the armed forces. Police personnel, under the supervision of Ahmedgarh DSP Sukhdev Singh and SHO Gurvinder Singh Sandhu, paid homage to the Guru Granth Sahib during the procession. A large number of vehicles carrying devotees passed through the region. The Nagar Kirtan was accompanied by the Panj Pyare, Gatka teams, and school bands. Volunteers from Sikh martial groups performed Gatka and other martial activities. The procession routes were chosen to include religious sites of all sects.
