They were trying to smuggle liquor into Chhattisgarh in a Sumo; villagers surrounded them and the smugglers escaped.

Chhattisgarh/MP. Liquor smuggling is now rampant in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. The police and excise departments are merely spectators. Villagers, using their intelligence, intercepted a large consignment of foreign liquor being transported from Jaisinghnagar to Chhattisgarh. However, due to the negligence of the excise and police, the contractor’s henchmen snatched the vehicle and fled. The villagers captured a video of the incident on their mobile phones, which is now rapidly going viral on social media.
The entire incident took place in Vinayak village of Jaisinghnagar. According to reports, foreign liquor was being smuggled to Chhattisgarh from the Tetka bus stand via the forest route to Chanti village on the Sidhi border. When villagers became aware of this, a team led by Vinayak Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Amritlal Singh intercepted the suspicious vehicle, numbered CG-04-LF-8601. The vehicle was loaded with a large quantity of foreign liquor. The villagers immediately informed the police helpline and the Jaisinghnagar police.
According to the Sarpanch, he had also informed a policeman named Vinod, posted at the police station. However, even after hours had passed, neither the police nor a police vehicle arrived. Taking advantage of this delay, alleged liquor contractor Deepak Gupta arrived at the scene with his employees, threatened the villagers, and snatched the liquor-laden vehicle and fled. Villagers captured the incident on their mobile phones, which went viral on social media.
