Himachal: Connecting Nations Through Art

Himachal Pradesh: In a vibrant celebration of cultural diplomacy, the Cultural Tourism Centre of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) organized a captivating Kazakh dance festival, showcasing the deepening friendship between India and Kazakhstan. Traditional Kazakh performances and Indian classical dances enlivened the evening, captivating the audience and fostering a sense of global unity. Presiding over the event as the chief guest, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal emphasized the eternal value of cultural heritage and India’s global responsibility in preserving it. He said, “India’s civilization is unique yet universal. From the Vedas to modern science, our knowledge tradition has always reflected inclusiveness and wisdom.” Prof. Bansal invoked the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning the world is one family, and encouraged students studying abroad to carry with them the Indian values โโof peace and harmony.
He further revealed the active steps being taken by CUHP towards international academic collaboration, which aims to integrate education with cultural consciousness. This event marked a milestone in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year between the Central Cultural Center for Cultural Heritage (CUHP) and the Central University of Almaty, Kazakhstan. According to Professor Sandeep Kulshrestha, Director of the Cultural Tourism Center, this partnership has fostered a vibrant exchange of arts and ideas. A troupe from Almaty performed Indian classical dances, including Bharatanatyam, showcasing how Indian culture continues to inspire globally. With such initiatives, the Central Cultural Center for Cultural Heritage (CUHP) is steadily transforming Dharamshala into an emerging hub of cultural diplomacy, connecting nations through the universal language of art and tradition.
