Bilaspur. On the seventh day of Navratri, a young man murdered his friend with a sharp-edged weapon near a Durga pandal. The two men were sitting behind the pandal when one attacked the other. The incident occurred in the Sarkanda police station area.
CSP Nimitesh Singh stated that Dinesh Kumar Suryavanshi (35) was sitting behind the Durga pandal in Mopka at around 10:30 pm on Monday. Kamlesh Suryavanshi (25) also arrived at the scene. Dinesh and Kamlesh lived together in the same neighborhood. Kamlesh had been harassing him.
Dinesh, meanwhile, has a temperamental nature. They had an argument behind the Durga pandal, when Durgesh attacked Kamlesh in the neck with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him bleeding. Upon learning of the young man’s injuries, his family rushed to the scene. They rushed the seriously injured man to SIMS Hospital for treatment. However, he died upon arrival. The police have sent his body for postmortem. On getting information about this incident, the Sarkanda police team also reached the spot. After interrogation, the police have arrested the accused Kamlesh. The police is gathering information about the reasons for the murder by interrogating him. Initial interrogation has revealed that the accused youth is a mental patient, who is undergoing treatment in the Mental Hospital located in Sendri. During police interrogation, the accused youth told that Durgesh used to harass him again and again. He had told him many times not to harass him. Even after this, his behavior did not improve. Fed up with this, he killed him by hitting him with a sharp weapon.
