Chennai: 2-year-old girl gets burnt after falling on open hot tar

Chennai: A two-year-old girl suffered severe burns after coming in contact with hot tar while playing near her house in Chennai. Jeslyn, daughter of Emmanuel Joseva, a resident of Nambikai Nagar in Pattinapakkam, suffered severe burns on her hands and legs. She was playing near her house when her parents suddenly heard her screams. On reaching the spot, they found her badly injured. According to a Thanthi TV report, she was immediately rushed to the Royapettah Government Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
According to the girl’s parents, a restaurant near their house has separate electricity. It is being said that the power station workers had repaired a cable wire in the area and left the hot tar exposed, leading to the accident. The police have started an investigation to find out how the tar remained at the spot and how it caused injuries to the girl.
