Punjab: Truck driver’s family wants a fair trial

Punjab: The family of a Punjabi truck driver involved in an accident in Florida in which three people were killed has demanded a fair trial in the case. They expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and condemned the media trial. Harjinder Singh, a resident of Rataul village in Tarn Taran, was arrested on August 12.

He had allegedly taken a wrong U-turn while driving the truck in Florida, resulting in the death of three people. Harjinder’s elder brother Tejinderpal Singh said that a section of the US media had reported that he was with them at the time of the accident, which is wrong. Tejinderpal said that Harjinder Singh reached the US in 2018 by donkey, for which he paid Rs 27 lakh to travel agents. He said that Harjinder Singh was suffering from depression after the death of his parents two years ago.
