Himachal: Canter loaded with army goods burnt to ashes in fire

Himachal Pradesh: Yesterday evening, a private canter carrying army supplies caught fire on a road bend at Bhali on the Pathankot-Mandi national highway, near Kotla in Jawali subdivision. Locals rushed to the spot and tried to douse the sudden fire that erupted in the goods stored in the rear portion of the vehicle. A water tanker of the four-lane construction company was also rushed to the spot, but the flames were so intense that it was difficult to control.

A fire brigade was called, but by the time it arrived, the canter and its goods had been reduced to ashes. Fortunately, the occupants of the fire escaped unhurt as the fire was detected early. According to information received, the canter was carrying regular supplies from Pathankot’s Mamun Cantonment to the high-altitude Leh region of Ladakh. The vehicle was hired by the army to supply these supplies.
