Anil Tuteja demanded investigation of liquor scam under judicial monitoring, petition rejected by HC

Bilaspur. Former IAS officer Anil Tuteja, who is in jail in the famous liquor scam of Chhattisgarh, has got a big setback from the High Court. Tuteja had pleaded to the court that there should be judicial monitoring of the action of ED, ACB and police against him, but the High Court rejected his petition.
On behalf of Anil Tuteja, his lawyer argued in the court that he has been framed under a political conspiracy and there is no concrete evidence against him. The lawyer said that the investigating agencies are being biased, so monitoring of the investigation is necessary. However, Deputy Advocate General Dr. Saurabh Pandey, who appeared on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), strongly opposed this. He told the court that Anil Tuteja is not only accused in the liquor scam, but also in many serious cases like DMF and coal scam.
After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court made it clear that the investigating agencies are doing their work and there is no need for judicial monitoring at this stage. With this, Tuteja’s petition was rejected. It is worth noting that Anil Tuteja is currently in judicial custody due to ED action and the investigation of corruption cases related to him is going on continuously.
