There is no place in Coimbatore I have not set foot in: Ilaiyaraaja

Tamil Nadu : Musician Ilaiyaraaja said that there is no place in Coimbatore where he has not set foot and till now he has been using harmonium box bought in Coimbatore.

Musician Ilaiyaraaja said that till now he has been using harmonium box made in Coimbatore and said that Coimbatore cannot be separated from him.

Musician Ilaiyaraaja’s Inisai music programme is being held in Coimbatore today. Ilaiyaraaja, who came to Coimbatore to attend the programme, participated in a discussion programme with advertisers at a private star hotel. He was given the Business Excellence Award by the Rotary Club.

Speaking at the programme, Ilaiyaraaja said that he is not a speaker but an activist. He said that an activist is a person who sings and the one who sings is an activist. He said that my song is different from the song of activists and my song becomes a song.

Welcoming the advertisers, he said that they all have come here for a purpose, just like rivers merge with rivers. Speaking later, he said that there is no place in Coimbatore where I have not set foot and there is no place here where there is no harmonium. He said that the harmonium I have is made in Coimbatore and my brother bought it from someone here and it is still with me and I use it. Musician Ilayaraja said that I cannot even say that I have any close relationship with Coimbatore, I can say that I can never separate myself from Coimbatore. Later, Ilayaraja posed for a group photo with all the advertisers.
