Himachal Pradesh: Wearing masks mandatory in medical facilities

Himachal Pradesh: The health department has made wearing of masks compulsory for everyone in all healthcare facilities across the state. With the rise in Covid-19 cases across the country and the first case being reported in the state on Tuesday, the department has become more cautious and has issued a detailed advisory to prevent the possible spread of the disease. The advisory strongly recommends wearing of masks in crowded places, especially for senior citizens, children and persons with co-morbidities. The department has also asked people to maintain social distancing in crowded public places and maintain hygiene, including frequent handwashing with soap and sanitiser.
Individuals experiencing influenza-like symptoms (cough, cold and fever) should immediately report to the nearest healthcare facility for medical check-up and avoid close contact with others, especially with vulnerable groups such as the elderly, young children and pregnant women. A few days ago, the National Health Mission had issued directions to ensure functional preparedness of hospitals with facilities including beds, oxygen supply, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, PSA plants, antibiotics, essential drugs, consumables and other logistics.
