Mumbai: Housing society in Powai files case against guard for throwing dog from height

Maharashtra : The Powai police have registered a case against a security guard who allegedly threw a three-month-old stray puppy from a height of nearly a floor, injuring and crippling it. The guard, Kailash Gupta, 56, was later sacked by the housing society, The incident took place on May 16 at Tower Park, Emerald Isle, Sakivihar Road. Kashish Dhanjani, a 40-year-old resident and dog lover, filed a complaint the same day after hearing a loud noise near Tower 6 and seeing the injured puppy crying in pain. Another society member Neha Sharma told him that the animal was thrown from the tennis court garden and the puppy was rushed to a veterinary hospital in Andheri East, where Dr Farnaz Mulla treated it.
