Uttar Pradesh: Man shoots two youth for fat-shaming him in feast

Gorakhpur: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly shot two youths for mocking him by calling ‘fat’ during a feast. The incident reportedly took place in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused was enraged over two guests mocking him for his weight.

The accused has been identified as Arjun Chauhan, a resident of the Belghat area. He was attending a feast near a temple when two other guests mocked his weight and called him ‘motu’ (fat). The comment enraged him. While others tried to defuse the situation, the comment left a mark on Arjun

As per the statement given by the police, “On Thursday after the feast, an enraged Arjun Chauhan and his friend Asif Khan followed the pair and managed to overtake their car on the Jagdishpur – Kalesar bypass. The culprit dragged both the youths by their collars and shot them. He fled away from the scene after the attack.”

A passer-by rushed the youths to district hospital from there they were transferred to Gorakhpur Hospital. Both of them are now out of danger.

FIR was registered against Arjun Chauhan and Asif Khan. The accused were arrested and a pistol was recovered from their possession.
